Piritahi Hau Ora is a marae-based Primary Health Care clinic on Waiheke Island.

Piritahi Hau Ora offers a wide range of health & wellbeing services, 5 days per week.

About Us

In 1996, Piritahi Hau Ora began as a small clinic working out of Piritahi Marae in Blackpool, Waiheke. The service was developed to deliver a kaupapa Maori model service to meet the needs of a rural remote population. Its vision and aim is to provide affordable quality health care with wrap-around social support services, in a holistic approach to supporting the community of Waiheke Island. All of our services are provided based on the Maori model of Health and Wellbeing, or Te Whare Tapa Wha.

Today, Piritahi Hau Ora has grown and expanded.  It is now located across from Piritahi Marae in a dedicated building and operating out of two sites. Along with the Piritahi Childcare Centre, the service now includes seven consultation rooms providing a wide range of medical as well as supporting social services and a conference room for meetings, group sessions and training.

Open week days Monday to Friday, our service aims to provide a culturally and whanau friendly, supportive environment that nurtures and encourages our core values of:

Maanaki — Caring

Pono — Transparency & Fairness

Ora — Wellness

Whakaute — Respect

Whanaungatanga — Connection

Aroha — Love

Kia Piritahi — Unity
