Health Coach | Kaiārahi

Piritahi Hau Ora and Waiheke Medical Centre are seeking applicants interested in a career path as a Health Coach. This is a diverse and exciting new position type that offers an impactful range of wellness support from directly within a Primary Health Care Provider/Clinic. You will be working in partnership with patients and Whānau, helping them gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to reach their health goals. The role provides support for lifestyle changes, promoting self-management and helping navigate and connect with any necessary partner services that will help them succeed. 

The role:

This role is based on Waiheke Island. The practice is patient and whanau-centered, community-orientated and is passionate about delivering quality primary health care and social services to their community.

Working as a Health Coach offers a busy but incredibly rewarding environment, whereby you will tangibly get to see the difference and positive impacts that you can have on people's lives. You:

  • Have lived and/or working experience of Tikanga and Manaakitanga.

  • Speaking Te Reo Māori would be advantageous.

  • Are self-motivated and independent, and enjoy working as part of a team dedicated to improving peoples' health and wellbeing.

  • Want to work in the fast-paced and varied environment of a Primary Health Care Provider/Clinic.

  • Will ideally have a Bachelor of Health Science or have worked in a health and/or fitness role.

  • Be driven to affect change within the community you will serve.

  • Have a strong ability and skills in working with all cultures.

Social worker | Kaimahi Toko I Te Ora

Piritahi Hau Ora is seeking applicants for a locum social worker position. This is a 3 month locum position for 2 days based at Piritahi Hau Ora.

ROLE

To work collaboratively with the Piritahi Multidisciplinary team. To provide a quality and client focused social work service. To carry out safe, consistent effective and documented practice.

  • Provide social work services that are appropriate and acceptable to Maori and others who use Piritahi Hau Ora services.

  • Develop social work services that focus on working with and strengthening whanau/families who live on Waiheke

  • Work with people in such a manner as to enable them to feel empowered to have control over their own situation

  • Encompass a holistic approach by maintaining a strong focus on the four corner stones of Maori Health

Applicants must hold full Social work registration with the Social Work Registration Board of New Zealand, have a full driver’s license and pass a Police vetting process to work with whanau and children.
